Well.

As some of you may or may not be wondering how I've been feeling of late, I've decided to update my blog. :P

Some of my joint pain is back, and I think I have been experiencing what I believe is chronic pain leftover from the Lyme disease. If that is indeed what it is, I'll have it for the rest of my life; just residual Lyme stuff. But in spite of that I've been working very hard at building up the muscle I've lost over the past 2.5 years! I've been point physical therapy type stuff to get back in shape. I've been slowly exercising every muscle I can in order to build up enough strength to really work out. I'll be doing that for awhile, but this week I've started working out pretty hard [in comparison]. I've been stretching, doing a little yoga, walking a mile every day on the treadmill, doing pushups, a million different kind of crunches/ab/core strength exercises, lifting weights, and other random stuff. It's paying off! I find myself stronger already. But I'm going to need to do it for a long time in order to actually get in shape.

I've also had some really weird stomach pain over the past few months. I went to the doctor a couple times and she gave me some Prilosec [to reduce stomach acid or something] which helped for a bit, but it came back. So now I'm back off of wheat [which I'm allergic to] in the hopes that it will help. It has been, but it hasn't completely gotten rid of the symptoms. So I'm also eating healthier, having a more balanced diet, eating less sugar, etc. hoping that that will make me feel better. I guess we'll see!

  1. Hi Kristen

Sounds like your doctor follows iDSA guidelines more or less on Lyme Disease I would suggest you look at www.ilads.og very carefully and consider whether or not a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor would consider treating you further and perhaps more of your symptoms will improve especially as you are so young you have a much better chance.

My 6 1/2 years illness has resolved after long term antibiotics I mean over 2 years not something your current doctor would clearly entertain.

  2. Joanne,

My symptoms have been getting worse and I think I will probably need to be retreated. That's amazing that you were able to be treated for so long!! Who is your doctor where are they located? I don't know who I'd see to get the treatment... the website was kinda cryptic.
